چکیده

1.Abstract A continuum-based design sensitivity analysis (DSA) applied to the thickness design of the anisotropic elasto-plastic shell structures is developed. Since main interest lies in developing path-following algorithms for solving sensitivity problems of elasto-plasticity, such an incremental or a step-by-step formalism will be employed to implementation into the structural analysis program. Because of the response sensitivity at a given time and location generally depends on the response itself and its sensitivities at previous time instant a good accuracy of the sensitivities is needed. In this article the associative plastic flow rule is considered and the elasto-plastic material model is limited to the linear hardening case according to the assumption that the yield criterion does not change in shape as the material hardens. The topics of the solving procedure of the sensitivities are presented. 2.

Anisotropic and Dissipative Finite Elasto-plastic Composite

Here we propose a macroscopic model for elasto-plastic composite, characterized by an initial anisotropy, that can evolve during the large plastic deformation. Application to transversely isotropic and orthotropic composites will be also developed. The paper deals with anisotropic finite elasto-plastic 6-models, which accounts for the dissipative nature of the plastic flow, within the construct...

Orientation-dependent interfacial mobility governs the anisotropic swelling in lithiated silicon nanowires.

Recent independent experiments demonstrated that the lithiation-induced volume expansion in silicon nanowires, nanopillars, and microslabs is highly anisotropic, with predominant expansion along the <110> direction but negligibly small expansion along the <111> direction. The origin of such anisotropic behavior remains elusive. Here, we develop a chemomechanical model to study the phase evoluti...

Insight into a model for large strain anisotropic elasto-plasticity

Efficient and accurate simulation of the deformations in anisotropic metallic sheets requires a constitutive model and an accompanying algorithm at large strains which take into account the anisotropy of both the elastic and plastic material behaviors, as well as their evolution with plastic strains. Recently we proposed such a constitutive model based on continuum energy considerations, the Le...

Nanoscale anisotropic plastic deformation in single crystal GaN

Elasto-plastic mechanical deformation behaviors of c-plane (0001) and nonpolar GaN single crystals are studied using nanoindentation, cathodoluminescence, and transmission electron microscopy. Nanoindentation tests show that c-plane GaN is less susceptible to plastic deformation and has higher hardness and Young's modulus than the nonpolar GaN. Cathodoluminescence and transmission electron micr...

Shape Optimization of Elasto-plastic Structures with Shakedown Constraints

An integrated approach for all necessary variations within direct analysis, variational design sensitivity analysis and shakedown analysis based on Melan’s static shakedown theorem for linear unlimited kinematic hardening material behavior is formulated. Remarks on the computer implementation and numerical examples show the efficiency of the proposed formulation. Important effects of shakedown ...
